Happy 4th of July!

| I wish this picture had better lighting, but it's the only family picture we got! |
We celebrated the holiday by going to Deanna Rose Farmstead in Overland Park, Kansas. It was a little bit of a drive, but we were really excited about it. And by we, I mostly mean me.
Isaac has always loved books, but has recently become obsessed with reading the same books. Over and over again. Two of them just happen to be about farm animals, so I was SO excited to bring him to the farmstead to see the animals in real life. He took a snooze on the way there (in his cozy new big boy car seat), but once we got out he was eager to figure out where in the world we were.

He got to see and pet just about every farm animal you can think of. He tends to still be a big people watcher as well (especially older kids), so there was lots to look at! We walked around with the goats, watched the calf get fed, played on the play ground and in the giant tepee, fed the geese, rang the cowbells and lots more. He loved it. It ended up being such a perfect place to bring him. I think it will continue to be a great place to go as he gets older as well. There were lots of activities for children a little older that I'm sure he'd enjoy someday. All in all, it was a great beginning to our 4th!

| Checking out the cow bells. |
| Look at the amazement in his face when he sees the calf and goats! I love it! :) |
| The momma cow |
| He used his finger to just poke at the goats. We're lucky they never gave his fingers a little nibble... |
| Giddy up! |
| He would much rather help push the stroller. |
| Sneaking inside the Indian Exhibit |
| Checking out the teepee! |
| He was a little nervous at first, then went around touching the goats with just a single finger. |
| Isaac has never been afraid to just hop in and join others in play. Thankfully the other kids were willing to share their sand toys with him. |
| Feeding the geese. This was the only time Isaac showed any fear of the animals. The geese were LOUD and right at his eye level. They definitely were not his favorite. |
| Checking out the baby turkeys. |
| Always finding the little things interesting. Something I love about kids. They love to investigate the things we adults so easily overlook. There's a million different animals around us and Isaac is all about the plants and dirt. |
I didn't know you guys went to Deanna Rose! Looks like so much fun :) So glad you're updating the blog again!
