Nursery

Well the room is finally cleared out enough to fit some baby things in there.  I've been obsessed with looking at nursery ideas on Pinterest and other websites and finally convinced Stephen that we should go register!  (And if you check out the Target registry, you'll be able to tell when Stephen had the gun... :)  I'm excited to get some furniture ordered and start putting the room together.  My sister and I plan to become Martha Stewart here in the next couple of weeks and hope to make a bunch of things for the room.  She's already sewed a bunch of stuff, but is keeping it all a surprise.  Can't wait to see it all and post pictures.  I put together a little inspiration board of my own which has pictures of things we've registered for and things I hope to make during our girls crafting week.  We'll see how much of it we actually make and put up in the room.  I'm in love with the colors (dark blue and green) and decided that the little bit of "theme" I will be adding will be airplanes.  I have a little metal airplane that I got from my grandpa (who was a pilot) when he passed away a couple of years ago that I love.  I plan on adding it to the room in addition to some of the old newspaper clippings of airplane pictures that Stephen's grandpa collected when he was a boy.

My sister is making a crib skirt from this fabric.

We registered for a shelf similar to this one with dark blue and green baskets.

I was afraid that I just kept picking random things I liked and that they wouldn't go very well together, but once I put all the pictures together, I am loving it so far!  I'm excited to see what it looks like once we get everything up in the room.

23 Weeks

Well we finally got a picture taken!  We were at Union Station with some friends taking pictures and we made sure to get a belly shot.  Much more exciting background than just in the house :)  And Stephen can be quite the photographer...he got some great shots of our friends for their save-the-dates.
I'm feeling pretty lucky that this pregnancy has been pretty easy so far.  I have the occasional muscle pains and am becoming out of breath more easily, but I'm loving every minute of being pregnant.  My favorite thing as of the last couple of weeks are waking up on the weekends.  Since I've been waking up so early, I usually just lay in bed and read or play around on my phone for a while.  And every morning, while just laying there, my little man just kicks away.  I'm in love with just sitting there with a hand on my belly feeling the little bump, bump, bumps... And as the kicks have been getting stronger, I've been able to watch my belly as it moves around when he kicks.  I love every second of it.  It's our little bonding moment in the mornings.  I don't feel him as much on the weekday mornings, but I think it's because I'm up and on the go for the next 8 hours.
Today at work, I did notice him starting to kick while I was reading a book to my 12 little two and three year olds.  I stopped reading for a second and said, "Oh, the baby is kicking."  They all came running up and put their hands on my belly to try and feel it.   It's so sweet how interested in my little man they already are.  They rub my belly and talk to the baby almost every day.  One of the little girls in my class always reminds me, "He's just a tiny, tiny baby, but he's growing and will be really big!" So cute.  I'm going be sad to leave them :(

How far along? 23 Weeks
Total weight gain/loss: We'll officially find out on Wed. the 8th, but I can feel myself plumping right up.  My clothes are quickly getting tighter and shorter!
Maternity clothes? Yep!  I'm on the search for maternity pants that aren't five inches too short and don't sag off my rear like a skirt : /
Stretch marks? No...rubbing on that cocoa butter! (Let's hope it keeps working!)
Sleep: Sleeping so much better.  I think I can go to the bathroom in my sleep now.
Best moment this week:  Registering!  Loved picking out things for the little man.
Miss Anything? not that I can think of
Movement: all the time, especially in the morning
Food cravings: Loving the baked goods.
Anything making you queasy or sick: I did eat a salad for the first time in forever the other day.  I think I really have to be in the mood for it to eat it.  It still looks pretty nasty sometimes.
Gender: Boy
Labor Signs: No
Symptoms: Round ligament pains and running out of breath a little quicker than normal
Belly Button in or out? Slowly getting shallower
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: HAPPY
Looking forward to: Getting his room ready.  Nesting is quickly setting in.  I think I've emptied and
reorganized almost every cabinet and closet in the house to make room in his closet for baby stuff!
