We had our 36 week appointment yesterday which included an ultrasound. It was amazing to get to see our little man again! It had been quite a while (since our 20 week appointment) that we had gotten to see him. Boy has he grown! We could only see one body part at a time instead of seeing whole sections of his body. The technician did lots of measuring and they gave us an estimate on his current weight:
6 lb. 12 oz.
Um...that seems a little on the large side to me considering we have four more weeks and he's supposed to gain an average of a half a pound a week. I'm not looking to have an over 8 pounder. Only time will tell how right she is on her estimate. She said he was measuring a little on the big size, but nothing to be worried about. He's in perfect position and sitting nice and low. Ready to make his appearance when the timing is right!
She was able to take a few pictures, although I think they're a little unclear. I wanted to share anyway because I'm still a proud momma. :)
The bottom of his foot. I believe the toes are on the right side, heel to the left.
His head (from the back) with a little bit of fuzz on it! Even though Stephen and I were bald babies,
it looks like he may have a little hair!
We have an appointment every Monday from here until he decides he's done cooking. I love getting to hear his heartbeat so often. Our doctor told us during this last appointment all the things to watch out for and when to be giving her a call. It made everything so real! Baby B is going to be here before we know it!!
How far along? 36 Weeks
Total weight gain: about 22 lbs.
Maternity clothes? Oh yes. I wish going to work in my undies and a t-shirt was an option since that's really the most comfortable, but I do believe my director and the parents in my classroom may frown upon that. I've found that leggings and dresses or yoga pants seem to be the most comfortable, so that's what I've been sticking with the most.
Stretch marks? none yet
Sleep: Depends on the night. Last night I slept better than I have in a while. I fall asleep at the beginning of the night fine, it's getting to sleep after the middle of the night potty breaks that I have trouble with.
Best moment this week: Seeing the little man yesterday at our ultrasound. He was face down, so we mostly just got to see his head, spine and legs, but I still loved seeing how big he's getting.
Miss Anything? Being able to do things without feeling out of breath or sore. They said once he dropped I would be able to breath a little better, but I haven't noticed that at all. He must like to stretch out because he has kept his feet nice and cozy in my ribs, and loves to give me a little love jab every once in a while.
Movement: still lots of movement. In addition to sticking his feet in my ribs, he likes to push (what our ultrasound told us) is his bum out on the other side of my belly. I say he's just practicing his Bubalo booty shaking dance moves in there.
Food cravings: Milk is still tasting extra delicious these days...and so is Yogurtini (the frozen yogurt place, both close to my work and home...dangerous, I know). I could eat that any time, any day.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nothing
Gender: Boy
Labor Signs: Haven't had any contractions other than the two bouts of them a couple weeks ago. Sometimes I feel extra sore in my back where the contractions started last time, but it seems to go away with a little rest.
Symptoms: Feeling good overall. I feel like if I'm able to still keep up with 12 three year olds everyday that I'm not doing too bad.
Belly Button in or out? out
Wedding rings on or off? on
Happy or Moody most of the time: A bit more emotional than I have been over the course of the pregnancy. A little embarrassed of some the things that have made me cry. Like not wanting to make dinner and Stephen isn't here to do it for me. That sounds really silly even as I type it out. Yikes...what has pregnancy done to me?
Looking forward to: Lots of things! Finishing up the nursery (can't wait to post some final pictures!), having our last baby shower and our diaper BBQ party, and all the other last minute preparations before Baby B gets here!!!
And just because I love to share the sweet things that Stephen does...
We were walking in Target together the other day(the baby section of course) and he just randomly came up behind me and said, "I just love your belly." and put his hands on it. :)
And just today he told me he's ready for Baby B to finally be here. I love that he's so excited about his son. He's going to be the best dad :)
There may be times this pregnancy has caused me to want to rip his head off for no reason, but he really does know how to make me smile. Love him to pieces.
